How to set-up Streamer.Bot – Tutorial

We will be taking a look at the nifty stream companion Streamer.bot today. This light-weight and versatile program can manage a wide variety of tasks and can be incredibly powerful when utilised properly.

Introduction

Why choose Streamer.Bot? Honestly there is no one reason to choose one bot over another, but there are a lot of reasons why we like Streamer.bot.

Firstly, it’s easy to set-up the initial app as it is all contained within the initial download folder. This means you can transfer it to other systems with little to no problems. It also has a function to import and export a selection of commands and prompts, so you can set-up and share your ideas easily.

While it can be overwhelming at the beginning, Streamer.bot works on logical processes which can be built upon over time. Starting from simple “Command Triggers” you can build up to creating triggers with multiple action paths and variable results that will appear on your stream and keep your viewers entertained.

Step 1: Installing Streamer.Bot

Streamer.bot doesn’t need installing to your machine to run. Simply download the app from the website and extract the files to the location you want to store your bot.

Step 2: Connecting to Broadcasting Software

To connect to your chosen broadcasting software you will need to navigate through the top bar to the “Stream Apps” tab. Since we use OBS, we will use the OBS tab and right-click on the box to add a new connection. The recommended version to use is “v5.x” and you can use local host “127.0.0.1” with the OBS port “4455“. Use port “4444” if using version “v4.9.x“. You can add a password in if you wish, but you will have to use the same password later in OBS.
