Author, host and dungeon master extraordinaire DC Bradshaw is back with Little but Fierce. This is the perfect home-brew TTRPG project for you and your family to explore.
Fun For All The Family
Little but Fierce is based on the popular 5th Edition ruleset but it has been simplified and streamlined to become easily accessible to kids as young as six (but still plenty of fun for those who are one hundred and six!). The changes cover three main areas:
- Rules, ensuring that unnecessarily complicated rules have either been simplified or removed entirely, keeping the spirit of 5E there without the scope for pedantic “rules lawyering”.
- Language, making sure that both key terminology and prose explanations are as simple as possible, so either a young child can read it themselves or a parent can read it to them without need for paraphrasing.
- Tone, keeping the fantasy fun but avoiding unnecessary mentions of more adult concepts (such as death) and removing any antiquated harmful tropes.

Simplified Classes
Choosing your player character is always tough, but Little but Fierce makes it fun and easy for the little ones to get involved. The system takes classic classes and boils them down to the necessary components. Taking out all the guff, makes the learning curve much gentler and eases your players into their characters.

Accesible and Inclusive
Little but Fierce puts inclusivity at the forefront of it’s design. From it’s simplified rules to the character art on the page, Little but Fierce has room for them all. There’s even a handy “Safety Tools” section of the handbook, to help you set boundaries and guide your little adventurers through scarier situations and battles.

“In a sea of electronic alternatives, Little but Fierce stands as an exciting and fun competitor that will delight geeky parents and their children alike. Carefully explained for those new to gaming, it brings a great opportunity to roleplay, create characters and tell stories together.”
– Sarah Johnson, Education Consultant and Keynote Speaker
“Little but Fierce is a well-written and thorough TTRPG that is true to the heart of D&D 5e but with language and tools specifically aimed at little ones. The character sheet is intuitive and easy to reference at a quick glance, the writing is not only age-appropriate but age-focused, and there’s attention paid to the GM side as well. For anyone wanting to start D&D with their kids, this is a great game to kick off and use as a solid introduction into tabletop gaming.”
