Are you looking to get more people on the screen and take your collaborations to the next level? Then come with us as we take VDO-Ninja for a spin and so off several handy ways to use it.
What is VDO-Ninja?
VDO-Ninja is a really handy in-browser tool which allows you to share video and audio over the Internet. It allows users to jump into a call via a single link, while hosts can manage the call from a separate panel. There’s lots of ways to use this tool, so we thought we’d list a few to get you started.

Four Ways To Use:
There are lots of ways to use VDO but here are a few of our favourites.
1 – Conference calls
VDO-Ninja has some serious utility in terms of conference calls. It can be used as a replacement for Discord, Skype or Zoom and has handy tools for the call’s director to manage callers and volume. You can also chose whose video can be see by others and boot anyone you need to.

2 – Capture Multiple Video Feeds
We mostly use VDO-Ninja to capture multiple video feeds in OBS for recordings and streams. Call directors can copy individual links to use as a browser source in OBS. Each video source appears on screen as a single source which can be moved and managed as you want. You can also control the individual audio of each source in OBS with a single click.

3 – Share Your Gameplay Footage
When joining a VDO-Ninja call, you can designate your microphone and camera source. It also allows you to accept other inputs such as an Elgato game capture device. This means you’re able to share your gameplay footage directly to a VDO-Ninja chat and directors only need to copy the link for OBS as above.
4 – Share Avatars
Similarly, you can share 3D and 2D avatar programs as a webcam or use OBS virtual cam to share your avatars with friends.
If you use OBS Virtual Camera to first capture your avatar, you can place them in front of a green screen. This way directors can copy the VDO link into OBS as before and use an OBS filter to remove the background. Using this method, multiple avatars are able to appear in a scene via the Internet.
VDO-Ninja Pros:
- Free to use
- Versatile
- No need to sign up
- Guest just click a link to join
VDO-Ninja Cons:
- Lacks filtering
- Messes with host mic gain (can be resolved by adding “&autogain=0” to the invite link)
- Requires a good internet connection
