Elden Ring DLC Announced

Just over a year after Elden Ring’s release, we now finally have confirmation that DLC is coming under the title of “Shadow Of The Erdtree”.

The base game grew in popularity thick and fast by being a great jumping-in point to the Souls games for newcomers and a breath of fresh air for returning long-time Souls fans with the open-world approach. The devs didn’t stop there and further gave continuous support to the game through updates and even a big free PvP content update for those who enjoy that game type without being relegated to invading another’s world.

Sadly we have no definitive release date as of writing, but that’s fine as the community has already begun to speculate what the DLC could entail. Will it be postgame related content? Will it be about a time before the ring was shattered? Or will it be set during the events of the game? All of these are viable options as we’ve seen the above happen before with previous Souls DLC.

I for one am very excited to finally get confirmation of an actual update regarding more content. We all knew it was coming and was more a matter of “when” not “if”. It will be especially exciting to see what Madman Miyazaki comes up with for an open-world based expansion, with most likely a new area with dungeons and caves to explore, along with new brutal creatures to bully new, old and returning players. After the great success of Elden Ring already the bar is going to be high for a paid expansion, from their track record of previous DLCS FromSoft rarely disappoints.
