Gamescom 2024 Opening Night Live

Geoff Keighley once again took to the stage in Cologne, Germany to present Gamescom which brought with it a bunch of new games announcements. Here are some highlights from the show

Borderlands 4 – 2025

Hot on the release of one of the worst movies of the year (that didn’t go to plan, did it Gearbox) comes the next instalment of the popular looter shooter series, Borderlands 4. It boast all our favourite classic Borderlands action and comedy and teases possible links to the Eridian, the ancient alien race hinted at throughout the series.

Goat Simulator Remastered – 2024

Goat Simulator is back and remastered in all its silly glory. Players old and new can enjoy the original sandbox physics comedy adventure.

Persona 3 Reload: Episode Aigis The Answer – P5 Joker Challenge Battle – Sept 10

The announcement of an expansion pass for the popular Jrpg remaster has split the Persona 3 Reload community right down the middle. Seeing our Persona 5 hero Joker entering the playing field may seem like a bit of a fan-service cash-grab, but it still got my heart pumping hearing the familiar Persona 5 music.

Dying Light: The Beast – TBA

Dying Light returns with Kyle Crane reprising his role from the first game. The first person parkour zombie game expands its lore with a new entry, teasing intense and terrifying gameplay as we take on The Beast.

Dragon Ball Z Sparking Zero – October 11th

Are you ready for another action-packed Dragon Ball Z fighter? Then get ready to play through the Dragon Ball story for the 9001st time with the latest entry to the long absent Budokai Tenkaichi series.

King of Meat – TBA

Combat, compete and create in this all new spectacle fighter. Team up with your friends to take on the colourful and dangerous dungeons in King of Meat.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark – Early Access Oct 22

A high paced multiplayer game from Fuzzybot, Lynked combines rogue-like and hack-and-slash mechanics with building and brawling in the fight against the world dominating Combots!

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage – Tape 1 February 18th/Tape 2 March 18th

From the creators of Life Is Strange, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage teases another strong, story-driven game as you make memories and uncover a dark secret…

No More Room in Hell 2 – TBA

No More Room In Hell 2 is a co-op perma-death survival horror in the wake of a zombie uprising. Shoot, scavenge and survive in an ever-changing experience.

Arc Raiders – 2025

A third-person action experience, Arc Raiders pits player against player and mobs in a desolate world terrorised by the mysterious mechanisation known only as ARC. The trailer showcases some stunning visuals and smooth animation, but will it live up to expectations?

Infinity Nikki – TBA

Infinity Nikki is a cosy open-world adventure from Infold Games. Spawning from the popular mobile games, it’s time for Nikki to uncover new dress-up options while discovering new landscapes and making new friends.

Path of Exile 2 – Early Access November 15th

The sequel to the popular free-to-play RPG, forge your journey with six players in Path of Exile 2.

Dune Awakening – PC Early 2025

You’ve seen the movies, now live the adventure in Dune Awakening, an open-world MMO from Funcom.

Reanimal – TBA

Survive the horrors as a brother and sister in this co-op adventure from the creators of Little Nightmares. Fight through hell to find your friends and escape the island, or die trying…

Genshin Impact coming to Xbox – November 20th

The popular Genshin Impact is getting an Xbox release. Delve into this genre re-defining free-to-play action RPG from miHoYo.

Monster Hunter Wilds – 2025

The incredibly popular Monster Hunter franchise returns with Monster Hunter Wilds. Take on epic hunts and track down monsters in the ultimate action RPG experience.

Fatal Fury City of the Wolves – April 24th

Fatal Fury and fighting game fans were hit with a double whammy announcement that revealed everyone’s favourite waifu ninja, Mai Shiranui, would be returning, and also that the season one pass would be included in the base game.

Monument Valley 3 – Netflix Games December 10th

The beautiful and enchanting puzzle game franchise Monument Valley returns to Netflix for its third instalment. Almost a decade after the previous release from Ustwo Games, it will be available to Netflix subscribers later this year.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII – February 11th

Build your empire in the latest entry in the classic turn-based strategy franchise, Civilization. Cultivate your lands and shape unique worlds in new and exciting ways, while taking advantage of those shiny new, next generation graphics.

Starfield – Rev-8 update available Tonight/Shattered Space DLC – September 30th

If you were looking for an excuse to go back to Starfield, then you may be excited by their up and coming DLC which now has a release date. Also as a free update they finally added a car for traversal on planets. A year after launch.

Marvel Rivals – December 6th

Marvel’s Overwatch inspired hero shooter, Marvel Rivals, showcased two more fighters. Captain America and Winter Soldier will be joining the ranks of this free-to-play game.

Secret Level – Prime Video December 10th

Secret Level is an Amazon Prime series created by Blur Studios, the masters behind some stunning in-game cinematics. Lots of familiar faces from across popular games appear in this teaser and it’s anyone’s guess what we’re to expect from this unique series.

Towerborne – Early Access September 10th

TowerBorne is a fast-paced, hope-filled, action RPG that plays like a classic brawler. In this vibrant world with exhilarating combat, youโ€™ll take on malevolent forces solo or cooperatively.

Batman Arkham Shadow – October 2024 Quest 3 Exclusive

Batman Arkham Shadow is a new VR entry in the Arkham games looks to recreate some of the earlier titles in an immersive adventure . Will it be enough to get the foul taste of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League out of everyone’s mouth though?

Little Nightmares 3 – TBA

Little Nightmares returns but this time with you controlling two friends, taking turns to platform or puzzle, hoping to escape the creepy terrors.

Herdling – 2025

From the creators of Far: Lone Sails and Changing Tides comes Herdling a relaxing game where you herd cattle through various biomes and puzzles.

Masters of Albion – TBA

The creator of Dungeon Keeper, Black and White and Fable returns! Masters of Albion hope to combine all these previous title into one with you playing god over a village that constantly get attacked at night.

Squid Game Unleashed – Netflix Games TBA

Squid Games has been given a 3D make-over and is looking a lot more like a more lethal Fall Guys. The video game adaptation of the popular “murder games” series will be coming from Netflix Games.

Unknown 9 Awakening – October 18th

Unknown 9 Awakening is a third person action adventure starring Anya Chalotra from Netflix’s The Witcher. It looks to shake up the formula with unique powers including the ability to posses enemies in the heat of combat.

The First Berserker: Khazan – Technical test October 11/Out 2025

The First Berserker: Khazan is a hardcore action role-playing game with some stunning visuals. This acts as a spin off to the company’s other titles such as Dungeon & Fighter.

Floatopia – 2025

Floatopia is a cosy, whimsical life sim with cute and colourful characters is sure to scratch that Animal Crossing/ Stardew itch.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle – December 9th PC/Xbox – Spring 2025 for PS5

Microsoft owned Bethesda and Machinegames showcased the upcoming action adventure Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and dropped the release date for Xbox then surprised everyone with a PS5 announcement as well!

Mafia: The Old Country

The show ended on rather laid back teaser for a new Mafia title. This time, we’re going back in time to the start of the twentieth century and the roots of the crime syndicate. Fight to survive in this brutal, story-driven, action-adventure through The Old Country.
