Men in Black: Most Wanted is a VR game for the Meta Quest 3 and 3s and is based on the franchise, just as you’d expect! Coming with a cell-shaded look, it’s more based on the cartoon than the films, but it’s definitely recognisable as you play, with the headquarters being just like it is in the films.

Here Come The Men In Black
The game starts with a flash, literally, as you’re neutralised and have run away before a gun fight at the end. A fitting way to get used to the controls and various mechanics. Following this, you return to headquarters, where you get the chance to meet various characters; some you’ll recognise instantly from the films. You can also customise your character and learn the remaining mechanics before setting off on your first assignment, which is to investigate a Motel and bring an alien in for questioning.

This level is split into two halves, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that this game isn’t all about mindless blasting, as there are plenty of games that offer just that. No, here, for the first part, you actually have to investigate. You talk to people and sneak into rooms to look for clues, and if things go wrong, you get to neutralise them too. Following this segment, it’s onto an action part where you get to shoot aliens and solve some basic puzzles along the way. It’s all great fun too!

Equipped For Success
To me at least, VR action games live and die on their mechanics, and whether they work well or not. Here, everything works very well. Not once did I find myself trying to reload without success or failing to pick up an item I wanted to. If I performed the action, it was performed in-game just as expected. Anytime it didn’t work well, it was my own fault and not the game’s mechanics.

It all looks and sounds great too, with good voice acting, a funny script and solid graphics, and I couldn’t see any glitches at all. Everything works well alongside each other. I played on a 3s, so I didn’t get the full 4K you’d get on the more powerful Meta Quest 3, but I’m still more than happy with how it looked and played. Developer Coatsink have done an excellent job here, so either headset will be good here.
