Some doll announcements are exciting. Others make collectors sit up straight and immediately start checking release dates and alarms. The brand-new Coraline Jones Skullector doll from Monster High definitely falls into the second category.
In a delightfully eerie collaboration with LAIKA, Mattel has reimagined the brave heroine of the beloved stop-motion film Coraline as part of the fan-favourite Skullector collector line. The result? A doll that looks like she just stepped through the little door into the Other World… and brought a few familiar friends with her.
As a long-time doll collector, I have to admit this crossover feels surprisingly perfect. Coraline’s strange, whimsical world already sits somewhere between spooky and magical, exactly the vibe Monster High thrives on.
Let’s take a closer look at the doll…
The Doll: Coraline, Reimagined

The Coraline Skullector doll stands around 10.5 inches tall with 11 points of articulation, designed primarily for collectors rather than play (this is one to stay in a box for sure). At first glance, she’s instantly recognisable. Mattel kept many of the characters’ most iconic details while adding subtle Monster High flair.
Her outfit includes: a glossy yellow raincoat with a working hood, a patterned dress underneath, referencing the film’s whimsical aesthetic, striped socks and bright yellow spiderweb rain boots with clever key-shaped heels and button accents.
Even small touches feel carefully thought out. Coraline’s vivid blue bob haircut is styled with her signature dragonfly hairclip, and she carries a small satchel bag and hat, ready for another strange adventure, super cute!
It’s the kind of doll where the more you look at it, the more details you notice, which is exactly what we collectors LOVE.
The Accessories

Of course, it wouldn’t really feel like Coraline without a few slightly unsettling accessories. Mattel included two pieces that fans of the film will recognise instantly. A miniature rag doll version of Coraline, complete with button eyes and her mysterious black cat companion!
These pieces reference key moments from the story and help recreate scenes from the Pink Palace and the eerie Other World. The rag doll accessory in particular is a brilliant little touch, cute, creepy, and very on-theme.
Packaging Designed for Collectors

Like most Skullector releases, this doll comes in premium collector packaging, designed to look just as good displayed in the box as it does out of it. Inside the package, collectors will find a display stand, a certificate of authenticity and window-box packaging featuring artwork inspired by the film’s eerie world.
Basically, it’s the sort of presentation that makes you pause and ask the eternal collector question: Do I open it… or do I keep it in the box forever?

Final Thoughts
Personally, I think this might become one of the most charming Skullector releases in a while and definitely a personal favourite!
Between the raincoat, the creepy-cute rag doll, and the beautifully detailed accessories, it captures everything fans love about Coraline’s strange little adventure. And honestly? Any doll that comes with a button-eyed version of herself deserves a spot on the shelf. Just maybe keep an eye on that little door in the wall…
